The creation of Covet & Mane's first magazine, the Fall/Winter 2024 Issue, has been a journey years in the making—an embodiment of passion and creativity, fueled by my collaboration with Founder, CEO, and now Editor-In-Chief, Dafina Smith. What began as a shared vision quickly evolved into a labor of love, with countless meetings to refine each concept, perfect every detail, and craft a publication that truly represents the heart of the Covet & Mane brand.

Dafina’s leadership and community-driven insights blended seamlessly withmy design direction, resulting in a magazine that reflects both artistry and intention. This issue goes beyond showcasing the brand’s beautiful offerings; it’s a testament to our teamwork, trust, and creative process. The hard work and shared vision that brought this project to life are a reflection of what makes Covet & Mane so special—our dedication, collaboration, and commitment to excellence.
When I first envisioned Covet & Mane, I dreamed of creating more than just a brand—
I wanted to build a community. Today, as we celebrate five incredible years since our launch, I can say with pride that this dream has not only been realized but has flourished beyond anything I could have imagined.
These past five years have been filled with growth, passion, and innovation. But what truly makes Covet & Mane special is the community of stylists who have come together to uplift and empower one another. This journey has always been about more than perfecting the art of hair extensions—it’s about creating a space where we share knowledge, celebrate our wins, and learn from each other.
I’ve always believed that when we share our talents and expertise, we create a ripple effect that extends far beyond the chair. The stylists who’ve joined our journey are the heart and soul of Covet & Mane. They are not only mastering their craft but also leading the way, inspiring others in the industry to think bigger and bolder. Together, we’ve built something extraordinary—a movement dedicated to growth, empowerment, and, most importantly, community.
It’s in the hands of this community that I see the future of hair extensions: a future where innovation is driven by collaboration and every stylist has the opportunity to thrive.
As many of you know from my “This or That” series, my days often start with coffee and end with a good book or a moment of peace by the water. But in between those moments, it’s the work we’re doing here—watching you all come together, push the boundaries, and support each other—that fills my heart with pride. Whether we’re exchanging ideas at a Tape Tour event, sharing tips in a classroom, or laughing over a cup of coffee, it’s that sense of community that fuels everything we do.
Here’s to many more years of growing, learning, and sharing our passion for the art of hair extensions. And here’s to all of you—our Covet & Mane family—who make this journey so rewarding. Thank you for five unforgettable years. I can’t wait to see what we’ll achieve together next.
